The different type of Philips Pasta Makers

pm

The Philips Pasta Maker has different commercial references depending on the country it is from (e.g.voltages) and on the size of the packaging that is used for its delivery (number and different type of dies).

There are two type of machines: simple or smart.

-The simple version has two settings to measure flour: 250g or 500g.

-The smart version has the ability to balance materials, calculate the amount of liquid needed, etc.

There is also a new version of The Philips Pasta Maker called The VIVA Philips Pasta Maker. It is smaller, lighter and has only three (or four) dies.

Functionalities:

All machines operate in the same way. They utilize a program to mix flour for three minutes and then extrude the dough for about ten to fifteen minutes depending on the amount of flour. This cycle is completely automatic and you can not change the time.

The Simple Version

The product is sold mostly with four dies:

- penne

- spaghetti

- 0.8mm or 1.2mm lasagne

- fettucini

There are two settings: 250gr flour or 500gr flour.

The smart version with built-in-scale:

This version often known as HR2358 and delivered with eight dies.

It has a combination of balancing and measuring features.  One of them is being able to calculate the quantity of liquid needed for the quantity of flour in the machine.

Features:

Screen Shot 2017 04 20 at 00.41.38

  • Weighing: it displays the grams of flour when it is put into the machine
  • Two settings for liquids: only water or liquid other than water (eggs, broth, vegetable juice, etc.)
  • Calculates the amount of liquid needed according to the weight of the flour and liquid setting.

Processing:

- choose between the water or other liquid setting

- put the flour into the machine

- press the "liquid calculation" keyto calculate the quantity of liquid to be put in

- press PLAY to start the program.

** The machine starts only if the quantity of flour in its container is between 200g and 500g. If even one gram more or less of the ingredients are added there will be an error causing the machine to not start.

To resolve this issue we have a "gluten-free" settings that starts the machine anyway.

Gluten Free Program (Start Immediately):

Indeed, gluten-free flour does not obey the calculations provided by the machine because the quantity of liquid is completely different. As a result, the setting for gluten-free flour allows the machine to be started directly. In this case, press and hold the PLAY button a few seconds until the number 3:00 appears on the screen. Release the button and then let the machine starts its cycle normally.
